· What's in store at Star Awards 2001?
Executive Producer (EP) for Star Awards and Star Search 2001, Ms Goh Djong Hoa disclosed that preparations for the annual extravaganza began one and a half months ago.

In order to match the purple colour of the Star Awards 2001 award, the colour theme of the ceremony would be purple as well

Stage presentation
One obvious change is the stage layout. The artistes can now walk up on the extended ramp from the seats directly onto stage to receive the awards instead of climbing flights of steps.

Immediate response of winners
"There would be a camera behind the stage to catch the immediate response of the winners as they pass through back to their seats. They would be able to share their joy with home viewers at once," said the experienced EP, who became a producer at the tender age at 16.

Would NKF Show II 2001, which rakes in the ratings, win the title of Best Variety Special?

Teaser
"Before every commercial break, there would be a teaser for the next (few) awards after the break. Rosie (Irene Ang) and veteran Jin Yinji would be there to gossip about who (or which production) would most likely win the various categories."

Special Achievement award
Ms Goh disclosed that the receiver of the honorary award this year would be someone with 16 years of experience both on screen and behind the scenes. But the suspense has to be kept for now.

Cheng Di will be pairing up with Cao Qitai to host Star Awards 2001

Cheng Di- the new host
Cao Qitai would have a new hosting partner, Cheng Di (from As You Like It). Said Ms Goh, " With her command of the language or appearance, we think Cheng Di has the potential as a fresh face for a host."

Coco Lee would be performing for us

Guest presenters
Taiwanese renowned hosts and singers Matilda Tao and Jacky Wu, popular singer Coco Lee and famous director Johnnie To would be performing song and dance items in addition to being guest presenters.
