and Vincent
should be nominated for Best Actor. Their performance in The
Challenge is
so convincing. Also, why is Dasmond Koh not in the Top 20 (Most
Popular Male Artistes)? He is the most popular DJ in Singapore and
yet he is not nominated in the Most Popular category.

I'm disappointed that Tonight
With Chor Meng did not get a nomination in the Best Variety
Programme category. Also, Chor
Meng deserves a nomination in the Best Host category, he was
very eloquent and brought life to that show.

I am so surprised that nobody was nominated for acting awards .
. . in In
Pursuit Of Peace, including Mai Haowei, Qi
Yuwu, Priscelia Chan, and Li
Nanxing . . . Nobody ever tells us who decides on the nomination
and based on what criteria. Shouldn't the web people find out and
inform us? Ok, we've heard you speak, so we'll now spill the beans on the nomination mechanisms of the Star Awards 2001.

Who nominates?
MediaCorp Studios (which produces drama and variety programmes), MediaCorp TV (which telecasts and acquires TV programmes and commercials) and MediaCorp News (which produces news and current affairs programmes) constitutes the other 50%. The complete list of eligible productions and cast under each category are sent to the voters mentioned above. They have one week to make their choices - a maximum of 3 votes for any categories. The returned forms are tabulated and the top 5 productions or artistes become the nominees. |
