In
A Nutshell…
A period comic drama about the love entanglement between a fast-talking
magistrate, a commander-turned-'small fry' constable and a shrew of a
lady boss of a restaurant.
Going
The Whole Yard…
Song Dou (Li Nanxing) who used to be a brave commander, now masquerades
as a constantly drunk and timid constable in a little town of Diancheng,
after failing to get into the Emperor's good books.
When he hears
about the common folks being ripped dry by the local magistrate, he begins
to steal from corrupt officials (masked, of course) and redistributes
the 'loot' to the poor. But while he may be noble, the guy sure likes
attention.
He
signs off as 'Here I Come' (hence the Chinese title 'wo lai ye') each
time he robs. So eventually, he becomes the people's hero as well as the
secret idol of a shrewd lady boss, Liu Feiyan (Fann Wong). Unknown
to Feiyan, Song Dou, too, has likings for her.
Feng Pobu
(Bobby Au Yeung) is the new magistrate in Diancheng. Dubbed a child
prodigy and skilled in the art of debating, Feng is well-versed in anything
from astronomy to geography, thanks to his mother's (Zheng Peipei)
ridiculously grueling training all these years.
In
fact, his fiery-tongued mother gives him such a hard time, he plans to
marry a woman fiercer than his mother so that she could 'tame' her. He
sets his eyes on Liu Feiyan…
Look
Out For…
· The
impressive cast including Hong Kong comedian Bobby Au Yeung as
well as Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon's Zheng Peipei.
· MediaCorp hotties Fann Wong and Li Nanxing collaborating
for the first time in a comedy.
· Li Nanxing in his first period drama after a long abstinence
from that genre.
· 'Catfights' between Fann's and Peipei's feuding characters.
· Funny gags and lines peppered throughout the period drama.

Kang and their families to death. Feng Pobu is implicated as he

and Jie Kui are banished to the border while the Empress is thrown
into solitary confinement. However, Doudou reappears soon after.
Thinking

marriage. Doudou urges Song Dou to stop the wedding.
